The Dunedin Haggis Ceremony

Enjoy a traditional Scottish entertainment, honouring the immortal Robert Burns and his address to the Haggis - the Scottish National dish - hosted in Dunedin (the old Gaelic name for Edinburgh) at a venue of your choice! Over a period of time, Dunedin has evolved its own Haggis Ceremonies that are lively, ritualistic and colourful. A memorable welcome for any group. Performed anywhere. The magic of these performances lie in their unique blend or rousing bagpipes, an entertaining "Addressor", the fascinating Haggis (made in Dunedin and "exported" all over New Zealand), whisky from Dunedin's own distillery, guest participants joining the Ceremony and Robbie Burn's world famous poem, "Address to the Haggis". Three participants from the audience assist in the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the "Welcome to Scottish Dunedin" gift duo will be presented from tartan-lined baskets to the first 3 participants.
