Can I Make Part or Split Payments on My Outstanding Trip Balance?

Madeline Ross·02 Jun 2026

Yes. Once your deposit has been paid, you can make partial payments towards your outstanding balance at any time before the final payment due date. This gives you the flexibility to spread the cost of your New Zealand holiday over several payments rather than paying the full balance at once.

Many travellers prefer to pay for their holiday gradually rather than waiting until the final balance is due.

Discover New Zealand allows you to make additional payments towards your booking whenever it suits you, helping you spread the cost before departure.

When is my final balance due?

In most cases, the remaining balance is not due until 60 days before the start of your itinerary.

Your exact balance due date will be outlined in your booking confirmation and travel documentation.

How do I make a partial payment?

Making an additional payment is straightforward.

To make a payment through your online tour itinerary:

  1. Log in to your online tour.
  2. Select Make/View Payments from the menu.
  3. Locate the balance amount displayed on the page.
  4. Enter the amount you'd like to pay.
  5. Complete the payment through the secure online payment system.

You can repeat this process as often as you like before the final payment date.

Can multiple travellers contribute towards the balance?

Yes.

Many couples, families, and groups choose to split the cost of their holiday across multiple payments.

Each payment is allocated to your booking, making it easy for travelling companions to contribute their share.

What if I want to split the deposit payment?

If you haven't yet paid your deposit and would like to split it between multiple travellers or credit cards, please contact us before making payment.

We'll make a small adjustment to your booking so that the deposit can be divided between multiple payments.

Once the full deposit has been received, we'll confirm your booking and begin arranging your holiday.

Why make payments before the balance is due?

Many travellers find it easier to budget by making smaller payments over time.

Benefits include:

  • Spreading the cost of your holiday
  • Reducing the final balance payment
  • Allowing multiple travellers to contribute separately
  • Making budgeting easier before departure
