A more immersive way to travel
G Adventures offers a different style of guided travel, focused on small groups, local connection and more active ways to experience New Zealand. With a maximum of 16 travellers, tours feel more personal and flexible than traditional coach journeys.
Led by a Chief Experience Officer, each trip is designed to go beyond the main highlights, with opportunities to connect more closely with the places you visit. That might mean spending more time outdoors, supporting local communities or exploring areas that are less visited.
It’s a style of travel that suits those who want to be more involved in the experience, rather than simply following a set itinerary.

How G Adventures tours work
G Adventures tours follow a loose structure, with a planned route and key inclusions, while still allowing flexibility along the way. Transport, accommodation and selected activities are organised, but there’s space built in to explore independently or choose optional experiences.
You’ll travel in a small group, which makes it easier to adapt to the pace of the group and spend more time in places that matter. Your Chief Experience Officer leads the trip, sharing local knowledge and helping bring each destination to life.
Different ways to travel with G Adventures
G Adventures offers several styles of touring, each with a slightly different focus. Classic tours are more budget friendly, with fewer inclusions and plenty of free time to explore at your own pace.
Active tours focus on outdoor experiences like hiking, cycling and kayaking, with simpler accommodation and a more physical pace.
National Geographic Journeys offer a deeper level of insight, with more inclusions, higher standard accommodation and experiences that often support local communities. These tours are led by specially trained Chief Experience Officers.
Solo-ish tours are designed with solo travellers in mind, offering a more social group dynamic and the option of a My Own Room at a reduced single supplement. These departures are led by female Chief Experience Officers.
